At Gentofte Hospital, they are focussing on waste management and recycling. During the visit you will hear how the hospital has made a great effort to teach the clinicians on how to sort different waste fractions. You will also see the newly designed waste containers for hospitals with less space for better waste management.
The hospital also has worked on minimising the waste of food served to the patients. Whilst visiting Gentofte you will hear how the cooperation between the hospital kitchen and wards has made it possible to target the food to specific patients and thereby optimise purchasing, cooking, and the use of leftovers, with a better economy and less food waste in return.
You will also learn about how it has been possible to use more than 75% organic products within the same budget. In May 2016, the hospital received a national certification: the organic logo in silver, because the hospital food contains more than 75% organic ingredients.
